2020 Spring Micro-Elite Program
The 2020 Spring Micro-Elite program is a competitive development program for boys and girls ages 6 through 10 (birth years 2010 to 2014). This is a minimal travel program focused on taking players through age-appropriate development of soccer skills, etiquette, fair play and team dynamics, designed to help further their love and understanding of the game as we prepare them for the transition to competitive travel soccer.
There will be emphasis on skills that will allow for valuable participation, understanding and contributions on a team at all positions, while at the same time bolstering the ability to enjoy playing soccer. Above all, our goal is to have fun and help players embrace the spirit of the game.
Team Format & Player Assignment
Teams will be formed based on total registration and appropriate age breakouts. If registration numbers allow, we aim to have a girls and boys team in each age group, however it may be necessary to field an age group as a co-ed team.
Outdoor training/practice sessions will begin in March 10, 2020, weather and field permitting and will be held weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 - 6:30 PM at the Corvallis Soccer Fields for the month of March.
When we start playing games in April, we will hold practices on Tuesdays only, 5:30 - 6:30 PM at the Corvallis Soccer Fields.
Match schedules will be determined closer to the start of the spring season. We coordinate with clubs throughout the state to schedule matches, scrimmages and friendlies to provide ample exposure to game play. We anticipate the majority of games to be played weekly, either Thursday or Friday evenings, from April through end-of May 2020. While minimal, there may be some travel needed to game locations.
Each player and team will be registered with the Montana Youth Soccer Association’s (MYSA) Spring League for scheduling of sanctioned matches. At this age level, most clubs throughout the state coordinate their own matches, scrimmages and friendlies to provide ample opportunities for game play. However MYSA does, at times, schedule on our behalf. We will do our best to keep travel distance to a minimum when scheduled away. Not every weekend will be a scheduled MYSA sanctioned match, therefore each team will also be scheduled for friendlies/scrimmages locally (Hamilton, Stevensville, Missoula, etc.). We anticipate the majority of games to be played weekly, either on Thursday or Friday evenings. Game day schedules will be published closer to start of the season.
