COVID-19 RETURN-TO-PLAY STATUS
Check Back Regularly For Updates
November 13, 2020:
We understand that the local COVID-19 spread has increased. To know for sure what our local situation will be come January is something we cannot guess but hope that it does significantly improve. We want to assure you that we are committed to being responsive to the needs of our players, families, and community members. The Club’s Board of Directors will be meeting and discussing the situation regularly and will adjust our program offerings as needed to ensure the safety and welfare of our players and families is kept a priority. This includes the potential of cancelling sessions or programs all together, specifically with indoor winter training since it is inside.
We want to provide you with some guidelines and procedures Valley Elite F.C. will be adhering to at this time, specifically for the Pre-Season/Winter Indoor Training activity (held at the First Interstate Center, Ravalli County Fairgrounds), to ensure our participants and staff remain safe, healthy and enjoy the experience. We will be following Montana Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) COVID-19 Return to Play Protocol, Version 5 (CLICK HERE), along with local, state and other guidelines as necessary.
Pre-Season/Winter Indoor Training
This activity is optional and voluntary. Paid registration fees for either the Micro-Elite Spring Season or the Competitive Spring Season include our costs to make this activity available to our players, however no one is required to attend should they feel uncomfortable.
The MYSA COVID-19 Return to Play Protocol outlines procedures for coaches, staff, volunteers, parents and players and we will follow that outline to the best of our ability to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
Indoor sessions will be scheduled and arranged to keep numbers small. While this is typically not an issue for the competitive teams’ sessions, our Micro-Elite (6 to 10 year old) group will most likely need broken up into smaller groups to minimize risk. Group/session assignments will be determined prior to the start of the activity (mid-December for a January start for the competitive teams and mid-January for a February start for the Micro-Elite group) and will be based on the total number of registrants.
Additionally, we will require:
All participants and parents/guardians who stay, volunteers and staff members to have their temperature taken at check-in for every session. Any participant or parent/guardian with a temperature reading 100.0 F or greater will not be able to attend and be sent home. To ensure temperature readings are accurate should you have a high temperature, we will take a second reading after 10 minutes before finalizing a decision.
Masks will be required for every player, parent, volunteer, coach, and staff member. Only when necessary, as deemed by the coach/volunteer, may a player remove their mask during an activity.
Social Distancing: 6 ft. of distance between households will be required during check in; parents/guardians who stay during sessions will be required to maintain 6 ft. distance between households, and participants not actively involved in an activity must maintain 6 ft. of distance between other participants. Avoid any physical contact whenever possible. Avoid handshaking, fist bumps, high fives, and hugs.
Participants will not be allowed to share equipment, drinks, food, etc. with any other participant.
Hand sanitizer stations will be available, and participants, staff and volunteers will be required to use sanitizer before the start of the session, throughout each session when possible and during breaks as necessary.
Before, during and after each session we will sanitize the doors and common space handles.
In the event someone involved in a Valley Elite F.C. program tests positive for COVID-19, we will immediately suspend all programs in which the individual participated. Valley Elite F.C. also will immediately contact local health officials and work with them to pursue contact tracing and testing according to county and local health protocols.

Included in the program registration process (Competitive and Micro-Elite Spring Programs) is the following COVID-19 Return to Play Code of Conduct agreement text. To submit your registration for the program, parents/players must agree to the following:

I further agree that if any member of my household experiences these symptoms, I will notify Valley Elite F.C. administrator Lisa Stevens (email@example.com).
I will not allow my child to return to sports participation if any individual in my household has diagnosed with COVID-19, until all three of the following criteria are met: i) at least 3 days (72 hours) have passed since recovery (resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications); (ii) the individual has improvement in symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath); and (iii) at least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared; or in the case of an individual who has symptoms that could be COVID-19 and does not get evaluated by a medical professional or tested for COVID-19, the individual is assumed to have COVID-19, and the individual may not return until they have completed the same three-step criteria listed above; or if the individual has symptoms that could be COVID-19 and wants to return to work before completing the above self-isolation period, the individual must obtain a medical professional's note clearing the individual for return based on an alternative diagnosis.
I agree to, if I choose to stay and observe the practice, keep proper distancing from athletes and other parents.
I agree to instruct my child on the club’s recommended guidelines for physical contact, which initially involve avoiding hugs, high-fives, etc.
